The Main Sitting Room |
| This is the largest room in
the complex and has a double-heighted roof. The upper section
contains a library in the “My Fair Lady” style
and is accessible by an ancient spiral staircase. The library
has several thousand volumes of books – fiction and
non-fiction. An ancient temple entrance adorns one side
of the room, while the walls hold two of the largest “Tanjore
paintings” available. Rare prints fill the rest of
the room. Two fireplaces on either side of the room keep
it warm in winter. The formal dinning table, where supper
is served every evening, takes up a separate niche within
this room. |
